Provide a new field sequence on production orders’s work orders, that provides clear information on the process order of those.

Go to Manufacturing > Operations > Manufacturing Orders, open an order whose bill of materials has operations and check the Sequence column in its Work Orders tab. Work orders are numbered 1, 2, 3… in the order they are displayed, and work orders added manually get the next number. When work orders are removed, reordered or regenerated (e.g. by changing the bill of materials), the remaining ones are renumbered from 1 without gaps, keeping their order.
